Crocosmia or Monbretia

I'm trying to establish a stand of crocosmia - hoping it might screen the veg beds you can see just behind. The courgettes are taking over. It does look like the crocosmia are settling in next to the weigella and that is cosmos growing at its feet.

In the west of Ireland the crocosmia jostle the fuschia on all the roadsides and it all looks very wonderful. For some reason, they were previously called monbretia. I have no idea whatsoever as to the readon for the name change.
