Bread Thief
Red Kites don’t eat bread?
I had just thrown out the remains of a loaf for our resident sparrows and tits and the odd crow and jackdaw etc, and was sitting at our dining table looking out when a large bird flashed past the window. I thought it was a kite or even a large kestrel, possibly after a small bird.
On checking the CCTV we could clearly see that it was a red kite, but it took a while to realise that it had picked up a lump of bread. Maybe it thought that it was a bird. Whatever, I have posted a short video clip on YouTube, and on Flicker. If you play the YouTube at the lowest speed (quarter) you can clearly see the bread being taken.
Photos taken of the playback on our tv screen, and my CCTV video editing screen. Wouldn’t it have been nice if they were taken live with my camera . . .
Set up Mrs W’s new propagator today. I had to sacrifice a sheet of five ply to widen the table it is sitting on. It’s on test run at the moment, so far so good.
I am still seething over Microsoft’s latest intrusion on Wednesday. Let’s face it I’m seething over Microsoft – period! If I did not have so much tied up with Access I would move to Linux tomorrow!
Cauliflower Cheese planned for tonight’s dinner.
