Dubai

Today should be our first day in Bangkok from where we will start a cycling holiday on Sunday.
Unfortunately, a sudden snowstorm in Manchester yesterday spoiled our plans. The plane was delayed and ultimately arrived in Dubai 4 hours late. We just missed the onward flight to Bangkok, so have been booked into a hotel here and rebooked onto the next available flight tomorrow. Hopefully things will go smoother then!
We had a wander around the area near our hotel and today's image is of the many towers, including the famous Burj Khalifa tower, dwarfing this beautiful mosque.
It is a fascinating place, but designed around cars and not pedestrians. I shall not feel the need to return.
Our hotel in the extra is apparently the world's tallest 5 star hotel.
