The Happy Couple

I had so many photos of the wedding that it was very difficult to choose! I settled on this photo of the cake decoration as it caused much amusement among the couple and the guests that the cake-groom bears such a likeness to the real groom. It was a beautiful and very emotional day full of thoughtful personal touches. The mother of the bride translated the registrar's speech for the non-German speaking contingent. The bride's very musical family performed an Irish song during the ceremony and a very funny rap at the reception. Her friends arranged for the guests to write messages for the couple on postcards. They are all addressed to the couple, then attached to white heart-shaped balloons and released. The idea is to see which ones make it back to the couple. My sister made a speech welcoming the bride to our family and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when she mentioned how much our father would have loved her and how proud of my brother he would have been.
