Singing the Blues
Lots of eastern bluebirds visited today, both males and females. Many perched in trees waiting their turn at the mealworm feeder, some scavenged seeds and suet crumbs from the snowless ground, all sipped water from the heated birdbath. The water needs to be refilled at least twice a day due to the heavy bird activity plus evaporation from the cold dry air • A quiet day doing household chores after watching President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral. I liked someone’s description of him as a southern white man living in a black belt of Georgia. He was a remarkable human being and many of the issues he grappled with while in office still exist today • Peace & Love
