Shedding the old...

The icy weather with temperatures below freezing seems to be encouraging the silver birch to shed it's old bark. It's as though a sheet of paper with a coded message on it is being dispatched.

It was a gorgeous day out walking today, cold but crisp with blue skies, and we needed the exercise after sitting so long yesterday playing with clay!
