Solitude
After a lazy day yesterday, took a short trip with E to walk the Wothersome circuit, one of our favourite routes. Considering how cold it was, underfoot was surprisingly muddy. Still waking up early and a bit groggy with jet lag.
We've started watching 'A Hundred Years of Solitude' on Netflix. It's visually gorgeous and does full justice to the astonishing writing of Gabriel Marquez. The great man resisted having his novel turned into a film and he was almost certainly right to do so. The set was built in Columbia, and the cast is also from his native country. Only two episodes in but it speaks of the same kind of authenticity that made Shogun such a tremendous series. Looking forward to continuing.
