Force Lake Mallards

They’re all Mallards, our ubiquitous duck, even the black and white one on the upper right. Turns out there are plenty of hybrids in the duck world.
“Many species of waterfowl form hybrids and Mallards are particularly known for this, hybridizing with the Gadwall, Teal, Pintail, Canvasback and many others. They are also the ancestors of almost all domestic ducks . . .,” according to the Cornell Lab’s All About Birds.

We took our tuna sandwiches to nearby Force Lake for lunch before stops at the library and New Seasons.

Then it was dinner and TV at Di’s where we started watching No Good Deed. Entertaining, if not pretty gory at times. Nice way to take my mind off some of the dreariness of life lately. Although, I wonder how the house featured in the series has fared in the LA fires. Terrifying.
