New moon in the arms of the old
We enjoyed our New Year break last year, and decided to go away at the beginning of January this year too. Today we set off for Much Wenlock in Shropshire, an area that neither of us has visited before. It's a bit of a risk as the forecast for the next few days has warnings for snow and ice, so we'll just have to play it by ear.
It was a very pleasant journey, and we arrived in time to settle into our room before wandering round the town. The Christmas decorations were still up and it all looked very festive (extra of the library). As we arrived back at the hotel for our evening meal it was bitterly cold with a clear sky, the new moon was shining brightly with Venus twinkling nearby.
