Man Made Destruction

About three weeks ago they cut down this giant tree.
It was an impressive Purple Beech, a landmark tree. I counted more than 110 annual rings and to be honest the trunk looks rather healthy. Only one smal part seems to have had issues. I'm always so furious and also frustrated about this man made destruction.
Caspar posed near the trunk to give you an idea how big the tree was.
(Caspar is a rather big doggy, a Landseer Newfoundland)

Thank you StevenG for hosting Wide Wednesday and the theme "man made"

Today I took over the walk with Caspar, because J. has an injury to his foot and can't put his shoe on. I'm still limping a bit because of a twisted knee, but I can still go for a walk. On the way I wanted to pass a Great Dane. I gave Caspar a very short hand. Despite that he jumped across the dog (playing!). The stupid thing was that I hadn't counted on my shoulder, which has been giving me problems since the summer. I just couldn't hold him and he jumped past me, knocking me over. I'm glad that Caspar just stopped and wondered what his mum was doing on the ground. She was sitting on the ground (next to a traffic light) cursing with torn trousers and a scraped and twisted (second) knee and injured pride. Somehow I got back up and tried to ignore the pain. Since nothing was obviously seriously broken, I limped off. It turned out to be not so bad at all as long as I don't bend the knee to much and avoid stairs  ;-)
I even managed to limp the evening walk, too.
Conclusion: Shit happens and it could have been worse ;-)
