Painted Jack

It was so lovely to see our daughter today and to have a good chat. By the time she left this afternoon the light was fading and I hadn't got an image to blip.

I got a wood pigeon on the steps but then Jack heron flew over. I snapped him using inappropriate settings for a bird in flight in poor light, which gave a very lacklustre image, the like of which I wouldn't normally post. I was so pleased to see him on his way to the lake that I wanted to include my old friend. I've 'painted' him to detract from the lack of finesse in my shot and to turn him into a sort of impression of a grey heron in flight.
