Grim

Another grim day. The snow had partly melted last night but then it froze and so today it was more treacherous on the paths and pavements than ever.
We had to go out for prescriptions and Terry offered to go alone but I was going stir crazy so I went with him - this meant he could drive me nearer to the entrances. This was a good thing as it was still very slippery on the car parks as well despite having been gritted.
Side roads were and are still abysmal but the main routes were OK.
We had some fog today but it was short-lived, thankfully.
Terry put rock salt on our drive and patio today but it hasn't melted it much at all. We used to shovel the snow but that was when we were working and often setting off at 5 or 6 in the morning - and also when we were younger and fitter! Since the snow usually last little more than a day here we haven't even thought to shovel it for a number of years - but perhaps we should do some of it.
Bins still not emptied (day 19) although I got a glimpse of a bin wagon on a parallel avenue and had hope it would call here but no such luck. Nobody seems to know when the bins will be emptied - the updates on collections (council website) says nothing and people have rung the council but got different answers!
We have postponed our geocaching trip for tomorrow as it's not good weather for caching or walking.
The local rats and cats will be having a field day with all the bags of rubbish lying on the pavements.
Great sunset this evening - red sky at night etc (see extra).
