Not much of a photo, but it represents what I was thinking about for much of the day. 

In the last century I worked in the Canadian Parliament and I loved my time there. I still have many friends in Ottawa who are connected to Parliament, including an old friend who is, as I write, a Cabinet Minister. This resignation, and the state of the polls, means my friend may not be in that post for much longer.

It’s at times like this when I wish I was at home.
