The Feast Day of Saint Severinus of Noricum.
After this Roman citizen lived in the deserts of Egypt, he decided to be a missionary in Austria, to reach and convert unbelievers, to save souls from eternal damnation. He worked diligently and founded monasteries along the River Danube. He never forgot his first preference to live a peaceful solitary life and he spent long periods of time alone, meditating on Jesus.
He could work miracles.
He eventually died of pleurisy. He was heard singing the words of the Psalmist : " Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord. He died happily in peace and tranquility.

I stayed in the house and tended to the cats and then put my snow boots on and carefully walked across the snow clad lawn, to fill the bird feeders. Many dear garden birds visited. Starlings, pigeons, a pair of coal tits, a robin and three blackbirds who seem friendly and very hungry. The saucers of water needed a kettle of boiling water to unfreeze them.

Canada Geese flew near the roof and it was wonderful to hear them.

Paul carefully walked to the Co op in the afternoon and kindly bought me a current copy of The People's Friend, butter and Oatly oat milk.
I had a phone chat with my good friend Lynn.

The pavements around the Close look covered with some powdery snow and some crusty crunchy type snow. It is not my favourite surface to walk on. I do not need any essentials now so I will be happy here at home.

It is warm indoors while being freezing outside. Nearly 5pm, minus three, feels like minus six according to the Google weather forecast. Real Winter cold.
Take good care blip friends and keep safe and happy.
