Apart from briefly recording that it had snowed on the bricks which will soon, I hope, be a path, I spent most of the day indoors. I finished painting my spare room/study then got out my saw and chisels to cut down the 'desk' - an old door balanced between a filing cabinet and a set of drawers - to fit its new position round a radiator (that should be 'square a radiator', really, don't you think?). Rearranging the room will improve it as a spare room and enable me to see more out of the window. The downside is that I lose a bit of desk space but I'm telling myself that'll make me tidy my papers more often!

This evening Secondborn, a friend and I ate far too much Turkish food in honour of her birthday.
