Bleak Creek....

A very cold and frosty morning here in Essex.  I ventured out for a wander and had hoped to make it to the nature reserve but both the ways I tried were either way too slippy and icy, or a big muddy boggy mess!! So I put safety first and loitered along the creek instead to watch a few waders - godwits, redshanks, teal - and the fishing egret who was waiting patiently to strike!

Temperature this afternoon still just hovering above freezing.
