Starburst

The flowers of this eucalypt tree I photographed in a local park this morning remind me of the pattern of an exploding sky-rocket.

The naming of eucalypts ie gum trees got confusing a few years ago when botanists decided to rename many species of Eucalyptus as Corymbia. I suspect this is a species of Corymbia which, to my mind, are distinguished from other eucalypts by their denser and more showy clusters of flowers.
