Black currant bush

The crop has been very good this year, a few more to go in the freezer over the next two days.

Today was spent in the garden : weeding, pulling out montbretia and grass roots - two barrow loads - and digging over the area. Earlier in the year I thought the long grass and montbretia leaves would look good with flowers in front of them. From what I could see on our return last week was the marigolds, pansies etc. were not getting enough light, the plan next year is to plant/sow more flowers, but a lot more digging and weeding before it is ready.

And then onto the big Strim. Hours of it. Fortunately it didn't rain - wet grass is harder to cut - and a feel good factor is in the offing.
