Another day, another island. Today we were at Lanzarote.
We docked at Arrecife and had a morning trip organised. We firstly went across the island to Tinajo. Our first stop was at another lovely church. From there we skirted the edge of the National Park of Timanfaya - a massive area of incredible lave fields a lot of which were formed in the 1800’s. We then stopped at an area where camels took tourists for rides on tracks through the lava! Then on to La Garia at a wine making place. Cannot call it a vineyard in the normal sense of the word as all of the vines were really low lying protected by lava walls to keep in moisture and protect them from the heat. A fascinating place although we weren’t very keen on the wine we tried! One was far too sweet - almost syrupy and the other too dry!
Then back to the ship for lunch.
Afternoon walk into town - most shops were shut as it’s Three Kings Day but that didn’t bother us as we had no wish to shop. Just a look around the town.
Went to a show this evening on the ship.
