Lowgill Viaduct
This imposing viaduct carried the line from Ingleton via Sedburgh to join the main East coast line near Tebay. It consists of eleven semi-circular arches, is 100 feet above the stream, and is 620 feet long. It can be seen clearly from the M6 and looks as though it is still in use but it closed in the 1960s. Like a lot of these old lines it would do good business today from tourism alone.
