Wintry fields.
The rain washed away the snow during the night but in the early morning there was another light covering,
We were out very early and had a coffee at the Craft Centre Bistro. There are lovely views from there over the surrounding fields.
School is back today with the usual mêlée of excited children, parents, and traffic!
Once home there were one or two jobs which needed doing, one relating to Stephen’s Christmas gift from me, which unfortunately was a size too small. I had contacted the sender by email and had a reply today to say that they could replace it with the larger size for the cost of the postage, and we could keep the other one to sell on or donate!
Sounds too good to be true! But there was a reason for the message.
The firm is listed as UK when I discovered from the postal tracking that the article had been sent from China and has to be sent back there!
I wrote and said I didn’t think, as they were listed as UK, that we should have to pay to send it back all that way. Hence the email they sent today,
If this works out, I will be very pleased, but cautiously negotiating each step.
I await another email in reply to mine saying we agreed to their solution,
Watch this space!
After lunch I had a walk around the block, as the sun was trying to make an appearance. It is very cold but nice to be out in the fresh air for awhile.
Stephen had gone to the gym.
My walk is just a mile.
I also think the evenings are getting imperceptibly lighter…..
We were fortunate to escape the worst of the weather just in our area,
Once again there are floods and today schools in parts of the North are closed due to snow,
Twelfth Night today. Or Epiphany which heralded the Wise Men arriving to bring their gifts to the Infant Jesus.
