Coal Tit #5

Yesterday when my husband chopped off the branches of the Christmas tree, the trunk remained. So, he turned it upside down and stuck it into the ground in the garden as a perch for the birds.  It was a lovely idea but it's not quite in the right place and looks a bit silly. However, with a bit of food on the top, it did entice the birds down for a little while until the pigeons came and scoffed the lot in about 2 minutes flat!! 
It was only ever going to be a very temporary arrangement and it was good whilst it lasted :)  I think I'll wait to see if I can get the Jay onto it before I remove it. Maybe something a bit more robust and permanent can be identified for the future.
