On the bed

Absolutely delighted to have finished the quilt and got it on our bed. I think it was made for a slightly smaller bed .. probably through my laziness not adding an extra border but I am thrilled with my first double bed quilt all the same. I started it about 25 years ago and had the idea of hand quilting the blank squares with things that were pertinent to us as a family. That idea got put on hold while life with two small children, a dog and a new life in the country took over.  Only now in the past 6 months have I resolved to complete my started quilt projects before adding to the pile of incomplete things. With the help of a local long arm quilter I now have my quilt. It feels good to have one done just two more to go!!

It was a shock to wake up with high winds and more snow falling! It’s really chilly out so plans may change. I must paint.. I have done a drawing a day but need to get the paints out again.
