Putting It All Away

I hate putting all the Christmas decorations and crockery away. For several reasons. First of all, it’s hard work, there’s tons of it! Secondly, the house looks so depressingly drab and bare. How do we live like this the rest of the year?!!! Thirdly, everything is so dusty and dirty and I actually have to do some proper cleaning. And I’ll still be finding pine needles in July!! Lastly, it’s all over. All that anticipation and excitement and light at the end of the year. All finished and back to reality!!
We had planned to get cracking on it all when Mr K got back from climbing with Miss E. It didn’t quite work out like that as The Fugitive came on and we thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Then it was a late lunch, then a fair bit more faffing before we eventually got cracking. At about 3pm!
We stopped for a roast chicken dinner and the last three episodes of Slow Horses with Miss E.
Then it was back to it and miraculously we got it all boxed up and ready for the garage.
Back to boring crockery and glasses. Sob!!
