Before the snow

Chilly pre-snowstorm day. We took down the tree but not the rest of the Christmas decorations. I wasn't at my cheerful best after grappling with the tree lights, so took myself off to Starbucks to make happy use of a gift card. 

W's Kansas family (his mom and sister & brother-in-law, who moved from Tennessee last year) have gotten two feet of snow over the past couple days. By now it's reached Virginia and has started snowing south of us. Glad I don't have to work tonight and drive home tomorrow morning. W's office has called off work for tomorrow.

Walked up the hill tonight; it's very still and quiet. W had a nice chat with Steinway, our neighbor's horse. He's a big boy!
