Unseasonably early.

The snow is not early. But the full scale flowering of the rhododendron by the gate before Christmas certainly was. As a result many of the blooms have frost damage but hopefully others budding up will be protected.

It was a picturesque scene this morning before the sleet arrived and everything just became wet. If it freezes tonight we’ll have another ice rink ( not spice rink as autocorrect helpfully produced yesterday!).

Otherwise we had our first service as a new congregation today: well attended despite the weather. The rest of the day became an admin one, peppered with thoughts of taking down the decorations - always a reluctant task for me. Even more so this year as the tree has stood up very well.
