Magpie In The Snow

It was snowing big wet flakes when Mish and I went to bed and it had settled slushily by this morning.

I broadcast seeds on the ground for the birds as I usually do and put some in the hanging house/feeder. I made a little pile of titbits for the magpie on the steps.

I watched through the window as the lame magpie arrived first and had a good feed from the ground before the pigeons turned up. Eventually it started eyeing the steps and took off but was unable to land because I had the steadying handle on the steps raised. I've put it down and am hoping the bird will be able to access the food tomorrow. The robins and blackbirds appreciated it.
