Photographer

R and I went to Cardiff today, where the Boy Wonder and the Baby Brother were co-hosting a birthday lunch for the enjoyment of their oldies. I was not on top form, having finally succumbed to the lurgy B brought with him to our house at Christmas, but everyone was very tolerant of my near-constant coughing, sneezing and whiffling.

We've now reached the phase of the brothers being almost more interested in each other's gifts than in their own, but we got through the day with surprisingly little conflict, and only a few precautionary adult interventions being deemed necessary. The Boy was very happy to receive his first ever camera, and even if the most exciting thing about it today was that it includes some little video games, I'm hoping that in time he'll come to enjoy taking photos as well. Under instruction from Grandup M he managed a very creditable shot here of me photographing him, photographing me, photographing him, etc, etc., and was amused when I pointed out that this was what was happening. Luckily however, I'm not in a position to show you his side of the photo-off - which could justifiably be captioned The Wreck of the Hesperus Attends a Birthday Party.
