Abstract .

I quite liked the abstract nature of the photo taken early(ish) this morning. It’s got quite a few of my favourite things all intermeshed together.
It’s so nice to get up to snow and we managed to get out for a decent walk fairly quickly . It’s now raining but it seems the rain will be replaced by sleet in the night . We had been saying how pleased we feel that we have nowhere to be for the next few days so don’t need to worry about roads when we had a call from Jess to say that the other set of grandparents are snowed in at their holiday home and could we swap our childcare days ! We can but we requested that they deliver Freya as we di not wish to risk a slip. Our cobbled street is treacherous and we both already carry the remnants of previous slip injuries. It really puts you off . We both have excellent spikes in our boots but ………
We had hoped have a fire on the plot and celebrate the apple trees, I had the cider ready but it will have to wait . I’ve been reading about wassailing and I’m always up for a celebration, especially when it’s linked to the natural world , any excuse ! Apparently the robin is regarded as the guardian of the apple tree so I did manage to sprinkle a few mealworms around the base of the tree . It’s been a gentle day during which we managed two decent calls with our sons . So grateful for the technology we have access to .
