Modern and old and some in between

The building (= the back of it) to the left has been designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, built in 1965*. The Uppsala Cathedral straight ahead dates to the late 13th century. Many buildings in this area are quite old as well, while others may have been built some years or decades before the Aalto house and are not any beauties... -  see the photo.

*The Alvar Aalto house includes nowadays Västmanlands-Dala Nation, a couple of shops and a restaurant. Aalto did not create the house for shops and a restaurant, and that is the reason why it has not the total original appearance nowadays. It is a pity...
