Picking Oranges and Mandarines
Those fruits hang ripened in the trees, ready to be harvested and that hardly happens here nowadays! We did pick some from the trees when we passed by.
We'd invited Sweetheart's friend Nikos, who's a priest at the Roman Catholic Church here in Chania and actually a Capuchin monk (there are only 3 Capuchin monasteries left in Greece; here in Chania, in Athens and on Syros. Roman Catholic Churches can be found in more places in Greece). Well, we had a nice time together at Sweetheart's home, with lots of talks and a piece of the New Year's cake and a drink and then a meal and after all that we decided to have a coffee at Lake Agia.
Driving us back to Chania I decided to take the D-tour of the rural road along the riverlet Platania where lots of orange trees and mandarine trees grow, hence our picking of those fruits when we saw that not one tree was freed from its fruits.
Have a good week Blippers!
