My latest obsession
This view of a stand of trees in front of my neighbour's tractor shed has been fascinating me recently. There is something about it which puts me in mind of the paintings of one of my favourite artists, Andrew Wyeth. His paintings of rural scenes have a sort of understated quiet intensity which I find very appealing.
I have photographed this scene before, but only from the lane, where I can't get the angle I want because I'm not tall enough to see over the hedge, and the only area where there is no hedge is not in the right place.
So today I thought I'd walk across his field (knowing he wouldn't object), though I did actually meet him in the farmyard and ask permission (which he found amusing).
I managed to trip over a stone which was covered in snow while walking across the field, but fortunately didn't injure either myself or my camera, though I did end up soaking wet and with wellies full of snow.
I need to remove the telegraph wires but haven't had a chance to do that yet.
