Firelight
Today was a better day, although still not great. I completed some uni work and attempted to tidy the house, and we started on taking down the Christmas decorations.
My grandmother's birthday gift arrived broken, which was frustrating and meant a mad dash to town to buy something remotely nice and useful was on the cards.
Then off to my Nanna's surprise 80th celebration. I really didn't want to go. I'm. It over keen on crowded areas and that side of the family is loud. Their idea of a good time is getting drunk and parting hard. My idea of a good time is a good book and snuggling up in my pj's. We left early before food was served (chilli con carni which neither I nor my children would eat) and headed to KFC. This was eaten in the car, parked in Tesco car park at the far corner. It was quiet when we arrived, but after a few minutes a very slow micra started doing slow laps around the car park, followed by a BMW driver attempting to do donuts and drifts.
We left soon after and headed to my grandma's as she had arrived back from visiting my uncle in Bristol.
She was tired, so we didn't stay long but I did have time to snap a picture of her fire (sadly electric rather than real) and hogging the heat. Having given the presents and cards over and saying goodbye to my mother before she left to head back to Essex,.we headed home, to bed late and to see if snow will arrive overnight.
