Oktoberfest

Got myself a crate of Oktoberfest beer today. It starts tomorrow and runs this year for 18 days instead of normal 16 as the German national holiday falls on Tuesday 3rd October. Oktoberfest ends on the first Sunday of October.

Guests : 7.2 million (2022: 5.7 million)
Beer : 6.5 million liters (2019: 7.3 million)
Non-alcoholic beverages : Consumption increased by 50%, especially water was the trend
Food : Sales increased by 15% compared to the previous year
Wiesn Lost and Found Office : 3,250 items found, about 250 fewer than last year
Mug theft : 115,600 beer mugs stolen (2022: 137,790)
Police : 1,854 operations
Oktoberfest hit: “Sara perché ti amo” by Ricchi e Poveri
Energy : 2.8 million kWh of electricity consumed (about 12% less than the previous year)
Garbage : 848,745 kilograms of garbage removed between August 28 and October 1
