Annual panto visit
Our belated family Christmas was lovely. The children had their presents while we waited for the meal to cook. Thomas was thrilled with Mythologica and Nathaniel loved his Manga One Piece books. Ella modelled all the Friends memorabilia and was particularly pleased with the water battle with her name on amongst all the Friends stuff. James only got a new school bag from us as his sword hadn’t arrived in time. He took it well.
After the pheasants and all the trimmings we all headed out to the local theatre for the panto. It’s my annual treat for the daughters and children. I started taking them when Ella was almost 3. It’s the same sort of thing every year - local Steve Walls in the comic part, squirting us will water pistols and doing the ghosterbusters bench (it’s behind you). This year was Peter Pan. At the end the children all queue up to get photos taken with Steve.
When we got back we had a margarita and ate party food while the children played. The adults opened their presents. Everyone one was pleased with the gifts. Whitley Bay has excellent book and antique shops. This year #2 daughter gave me a very old book of Scottish border tales and a real Clarice Cliff piece which she bargained for. It’s not a typical piece but I love it - it will be a future blip.
Gavin phoned to update us on Lynne’s progress which is excellent.
We stayed up chatting till 2am hence my late blip. It was a lovely day.
