Christmas Present.
I had a terrible nights sleep. Hardly slept at all really. And this morning I " did something " to the settings on my phone and somehow got locked into a setting where I couldn't use any of the normal buttons. There was a voice telling me what I was pressing ( not helpful ) but nothing I wanted to do was getting done. I couldn't turn the stupid voice off either - even with the volume turned down she wouldn't shut up. AND sometimes when I pressed a button the phone camera took a random photo - sometimes of me and sometimes of whatever was in front of me. See Extra for a silly shot of the top of my head. So annoying. I went on my PC to Google a solution - but none of them worked as this new setting on the phone wouldn't let me do any of the suggestions. I was at my wits end.
Becky, Mike and Astrid were visiting today and I was expecting a WhatsApp call from Becky to let me know what time they would arrive etc. I could see I had a message but couldn't read it. Finally managed to sort that out at least so I knew what time they would be getting here.
Almost as soon as they arrived I asked Mike to sort my phone out.... and he did. Now that was the best Christmas present he could give me. I didn't ask how he did it ... I was just happy to be able to use my phone again. Hopefully Im not silly enough to make the same mistake again - even though I don't really know what I did in the first place.
We all settled down to open our Christmas presents. Astrid had loads from me ... mostly books . Becky had given me a list of titles to get. Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, Thomas, Bob The Builder, Maisie etc - as well as some jigsaws and stickers of the same characters. Astrid loves books so the more the merrier. She did get a few toys from me as well. And a huge squishy soft toy from Auntie Rachael and Uncle Neil. We had a coffee break and then the rest of us opened our presents. Then we had a bit of lunch - sandwiches, crisps and shortbread. Very tasty.
Ive blipped one of my presents for Silly Saturday. I asked Becky to get me this book. The book isn't silly but Ive actually had an air fryer for a few years and its still in the box unused. That's silly. So I thought if I got this book it might encourage me to start using my air fryer. Thanks to KangaZu for hosting the challenge.
All too soon it was time for my special visitors to head home. Its great that now they are living in Yorkshire they can get here and back in the same day.
After they had gone I had a tidy up -- there was wrapping paper everywhere ........and then I had a nap.
Newcastle had a away match today with a 12.30pm kick off. They were playing Spurs. Obviously I couldn't listen on the radio but I kept checking the score. The score was Spurs 1 Newcastle 2. Great result. My team are certainly in good form at the moment.
