Windswept

Very cold today. It'll be MUCH colder tomorrow. And then snow/wintry mix tomorrow night and all day Monday. Oh joy.

Anyway - this Eastern phoebe surprised me by showing up at our bird feeder tree this morning. They are pretty much exclusively insect eaters so I don't know where the heck it's finding anything to eat. I guess maybe I should buy some dried mealworms or something. Then again, they've been getting on without my help for years and years, so...

But I do love a phoebe! I almost never see them in the winter. Certainly not hanging around our bird feeders. It's all puffed up trying to stay warm.
