Melrose Chain Bridge

Last night I wrote a whole text with links and published it --- but where is it?

Sorry, Blippers, this is all I've time for right now.

Edit:
My blip disappeared last night and I lost the text, so carefully written to represent our day. To summarise:-

We took the Jazz down to the dealership in Peebles for regular update of the Satnav, expecting it to take a couple of hours or so, a further investigation was required as the dashcam was not accessing time or position. We were given a courtesy car to play with while the Jazz was fixed.

First stop, coffee and scones at Caberston Farm Coffee shop in Walkerburn, then drove to Melrose. Walked to the Chain Bridge, across it (main photo) and a little way upstream on north bank, before returning and walking upstream on the south bank. Watched a heron then up to the town. Watched a tree with several species of bird, including blackbird, blue tit, some kind of finch and a pair of nuthatch. Into the Abbey, walk around graveyard only as building covered with scaffolding for inspection and repair. Spot the famous 'bagpipe-playing pig' sculpture way up high. Check out stone marking the position of a buried heart, reputed to be that of Robert the Bruce (though unlikely). Photograph a solo snowdrop.

Drove back to Peebles, as time approaching for Jazz to be ready, had coffee and cake in Coltman's, upstairs in a gracious room with patterned cornice, bell-pulls to summon servants and stained glass windows. Then a wander round the charity shops until returning to the dealership.

The satnav update completed, a fault was found in the dashcam and technical support at Honda contacted. Thus another trip to Peebles will be necessary when plan in place. We topped-up the fuel before returning the courtesty car, having used used 4.5 litres in our ramblings (it has to be said that demisting the windows required the fan on full and air-con on for much of the time).

Weather: frozen, lying snow, all the way to Peebles, none east of Peebles but riverside in Melrose, very cold, clear with blue sky.

Extra: top; The Pentlands, taken through car window; bottom left, the Pig; bottom right, crescent moon with Venus, (heavily cropped).
