Squirrel Blip Friday ...
... Am I a koala or a squirrel!?!
We were up and out of the house relatively early today as we had signed up for the Great Backyard Bird Count at Jacobsburg State Park this morning. There are two two day time periods each month when you can volunteer to go help them count the birds that visit the feeders they put out. The global bird count is sponsored by Cornell Labs and runs from December 2024 through April 2025. Ranger Lauren puts out a schedule each month for the two days each month and you can sign up for as little as half and hour or all day if you so choose.
We had a great time and ending staying for longer than the half hour we signed up for. Lots of birds were seen. And, of course, lots of squirrels, too! When I saw this one my first thought was a koala! And Richard said the same thing!
After our bird observations and count we took a short walk along the Henry's Woods trail before returning home just in time for lunch. And with nowhere else to go today we been home ever since.
Note: If you look at the map it doesn't show the Education Center building that we were in when you zoom in on the satellite view. The old education center was located some place else and was torn down some years ago. A bigger, better center was rebuilt in the location on the map but the map doesn't show it.
