Might be Jupiter?
I'll be glad when we regain some evening light so if I reach the point where I sit down on the settee and go, oh heck I haven't got a blip, I can nip outside and seek out a pretty plant or use the BIG lens to capture the wind turbines on the horizon. I am determined not to do any post Christmas blips, even though the decorations are still up, so it's a slice of moon and a planet, which may or may not be Jupiter. Happy to be corrected!
The day began with an early breakfast to ensure my stomach was settled before my torture fitness session with Angela and Sara. It was treacherous underfoot creeping down into the village with black ice waiting to catch out the unwary. But I'm not complaining that it is nose numbingly cold and beautifully bright.
Back home, young neighbour M had arrived to be 'looked after' whilst Mum and Dad returned to work. She was smashing company. She had brought with her some practice knitting we had done a long time ago when she stayed for a couple of hours, and was enthusiastic to continue with it. By the time Mum arrived to collect her after lunch she had learned how to do purl and knitted half of a bright yellow, furry snood and we had enjoyed a very relaxing, chatty most of a day.
When M and L went home I walked down to the Post Office to post a purse found by one of our park runners under a bush a couple of weeks ago. I managed to locate the owner via her hairdresser appointment card. Apparently, she had been helping her husband try on new shoes in a shop when a woman walked in, picked up her handbag and walked out again.
We are hoping very elderly neighbour M is okay after falling yesterday at home. She was found today by her daughter when she didn't answer her phone and taken to hospital. A neighbour reported she was able to walk into the ambulance so thankfully no broken hip. Time for neighbours to elevate our watch methinks.
Breaking news: Far more astronomical blippers than me identify it as Venus!
