Threads...
One of my favorite things to photograph, other than animals, bugs and birds, are small objects like this. This is an old spool of red thread that belonged to my MIL with the old 1918 Singer Sewing Machine that belonged to her father, my husband's grandfather. I've photographed this before, but wanted to try something different this time so shot with the machine in the background, wide open to blur everything but the spool. Then converted to black and white because... well, why not? I will put another shot in Extra, in color. Do you have a preference?
It's rather cold again today so we kept our walk with Jax short. Even with a jacket on, it's cold for a short hair, single coat dog. There is a field at one end of the Lane that he really enjoys visiting, with lots of stops to pee and sniff things. Happy dog, happy humans.
I never got out of my sweats yesterday but I feel perfectly fine today (other than the ongoing worry about parents). And, after about 5 days of increased rheumatoid inflammation, my joints feel normal today too.
I mentioned recently that I have finally abandoned Carbonite in favor of BackBlaze to back up my MacBook and external drive. I had some challenges getting it all set up properly and then couldn't get it to back up the hard drive ... until I read (and tried) everything on the internet - and voila! I'm now fully backed up. And I also did a manual backup of my external hard drive to a second hard drive. That drive houses all of my photography so I'm a little paranoid about losing it. Always a good day when one manages to conquer technology!
In less than a month, I will be in Texas. First a few days with family and then onto Rockport to photograph the endangered Whooping Cranes. Looking forward to getting away and spending a week doing nothing but photography!
