River Spean

Happy New Year!

This is the River Spean at the upper end of Monessie Gorge. While just a couple of miles down stream of Laggan Dam, spllling in spectacular fashion, the Treig and Lair tributaries normally diverted away for hydro-electric are also defeating their respective dams (blip yesterday) and are contributing to the flow by this reach in the system. The volume and speed are best appreciated if you have witnessed the same channel in more benign conditions (extra).
