Coast Banksia
We caught a ferry to Watson’s Bay, explored Green Point, Camp Cove and South Head and then followed the clifftop walk south towards Bondi. Most of the flowers I photographed turned out to be invasive - Japanese honeysuckle, cosmos-something and lantana. The three native orchids on an information panel were nowhere to be seen.
I looked up the knobbly growths on the banksia cones - they're called galls, and are caused by insect and fungal damage.
