Tor Caldara

A medieval watch tower on the coast in a protected nature reserve.
We took a long peaceful walk around the reserve, in only the second time in 30 years despite it being in walking distance from our home.
We had a chat with two lovely donkeys. I found some fresh grass for them, which they found more interesting than human conversation.
Many years ago, after a long walk along the beach, after wandering aroung the sulfur springs, in what bacame a nature reserve, we found ourselves deep inside and cut off, unable to reach the main road, so we made our way through the
 unfinished, not fenced off and unguarded area. When we reached the road, it was closed by a massively high metal gate, which we climbed over, somehow and walked home, quite scruffy and tired, by then.
