Low Approach

Coming in low in the golden hour she came in hunting.

Although the owls were fairly successful today in their hunting for voles the crows were even more so. It wasn't until I got home and saw the shots on the computer I realised I had two crows in tandem both with voles hanging from their beaks. Harassing the owls had certainly paid of in this instance.

On getting to the field late this afternoon my heart sank as  I could see a row of cars in my usual parking spots and on rounding the next bend was staggered as the whole road was utterly heaving with photographers, long lenses, cars and vans. I debated on whether to stay but the sun and light generally was magnificent and really what I'd been waiting for, for ages. AND the owls were out playing ...
