Sunshine! What a beautiful crisp day. We headed over to burgh this morning and never has the outskirts of Airdrie looked so pretty as when everything in covered in a bit of snow. I do love snow when it makes everything look pretty but doesn't make driving a hazard.
None of the white stuff in burgh, but lots of people out and about enjoying the weather. I failed to spend my John Lewis vouchers but did successfully spend the book tokens and climbed the ladders in Topping and Company which is always a joy. Town was very busy and we struggled to find somewhere with space for lunch until we headed back down Leith walk to the good tapas place and ate lots of very good food.
Super pretty on the way back and it felt really good to be out of the house even if I'm not yet feeling 100%. I think I'll be in the queue to bombard the doctors when they open at 8 tomorrow morning just to be on the safe side.
Edit: Totally forgot to mention that we stopped by the gallery in Burgh to see the Turner watercolours on display. Some rich dude had a collection and we gave some to the Irish National Gallery and some to the Scottish National Gallery, on the strict instruction that they only be on show for the month of January to limit the exposure to light. This year, the Scottish and Irish galleries have swapped their collections, so you can see the Irish ones in Burgh. Can't pass up on an opportunity to see a Turner especially for free.
