Noisy new year
The sun shone brightly but my, it was cold!
I had intended to go out for a walk around lunchtime, but Steve's wrist was bad, veering on worse. I suggested it might be RSI. He had been doing a lot of photo editing before Christmas. We ordered an ergonomic mouse (who knew?) and then drove to Tesco pharmacy, where we got some Voltarol gel, and failed to get a suitable wrist and hand splint. Next stop the town surgery, where I had a work question to ask, and Steve popped into the nearby pharmacy, where he received excellent advice and managed to get a splint. We drove home, unpacked shopping and made tea. I was still hoping to have a walk, but two incoming phone calls later and a nasty interlude where the washing machine was making an awful noise, the sun had set. So I did a bit more of the jigsaw, snapped the (new?) moon, and waited out front for GG, who wanted to go out. We managed to park in town and walked to Curio Lounge, where I had tea and and fries, and GG had a cheeseburger and chips. Her brother is coming out of hospital tomorrow ,and sounded exceedingly grumpy on the phone. Of course, unwell people can be ill-tempered....
GG dropped me home, as per my request to be back by 7, in order to start on our own dinner. Now we are watching the last-ever episode of Vera. Although, of course, we may now have Young Vera, or What Vera did Next, as well as antire channel devoted to repeats.
I'm really enjoying listening, via BBC Sounds, to Miss Happiness and Miss Flower, based on the story by Rumer Godden. It's a dramatisation of a book I read as a child, though I barely remember it.
