Arnside

Across the waters of the River Kent from Grange lies Arnside.  It was once a small fishing and commercial port and there has also been some boat-building carried out here including the sailing boat "Swallow" made famous by Arthur Ransome in his book "Swallows and Amazons".
A beautiful crisp winter's day today.  I walked up onto Hampsfell from where I took this picture.
