The stillness after the storm

The first day of 2025 was a dreadful day weather wise in the UK and l suspect in a lot of the Northern hemisphere.  It rained, it blew, it was dark and as the day progressed it got noticeably cooler - it was just a day to be inside.  I stepped out to get a newspaper but that was the limit of my outings.
