Welcome to 2025

Pouring rain this morning encouraged me to have another very lazy time of it indoors, mostly reading and catching up on one or another channel's videos on YouTube.  By lunchtime the rain had turned to thick sleet which soon turned to thick, wet snow, so I was further encouraged to stay indoors.  In advance of a late lunch I resolved to sort my grey hair with another bottle of red, though not quite as incredibly red as last time!

After dealing with some electronic paperwork I watched the second half of a great interview with Phil Collins, led by his son Nic, who contributed too.  Phil's drumming days are over, owing to age and injury, but he'll always be the "da-da da-da da-da da-da, DAH DAH!" drum fill guy, yet his work with Brand X is criminally underrated, to say nothing of most of his lifetime fronting Genesis and for an encore, selling out stadiums by the bucketload as a solo artist.

I was two hours late to run outside to see the aurora, but I see that a few people including @trevorearthy, @SirBenfro and @EcoDad all managed to get good photos, as did one of my colleagues.  The stars are out tonight, but the 10º temperatures of the past few days have plummeted to freezing, so I'm staying inside.  I threw together some rice and veg for tea.  The rice wasn't great but the grilled flatbread was!
